Risk and where to get help
Adults only — 18+
The legal minimum age for gambling in Netherlands is 18. Nothing here is aimed at anyone below it, and no operator may lawfully accept an underage account.
The arithmetic behind it
Prices include the operator's margin, so over time the house is ahead by design rather than by chance. Nothing you read here or elsewhere changes that. If losing the stake would matter, do not place it.
When it stops being a pastime
Warning signs are specific: betting more than you planned, betting to win back what you lost, borrowing to bet, hiding it from people close to you, thinking about the next bet during work or sleep. Any of these on its own is worth taking seriously — they rarely arrive alone.

None of it costs anything, and the earlier the conversation, the smaller the problem it has to solve.
Before you start
Fix the amount first and keep it apart from money with a job to do. Licensed platforms must give you deposit limits, time-outs and a way to exclude yourself — which is part of why the licence is worth checking.
